Kustom Airstrike opens US$50,000 aerial surfing competition

January 1, 2010

Kustom Air Strike

Kustom Airstrike, the eight-month mission to reward the world’s most innovative and crazy aerial surfing manoeuvre, officially launches today.

The US$50,000 winner-take-all event, the world’s richest single-trick surfing contest, is open to all surfers globally – whether they be professionals or just the un-sponsored young kid on the local beachbreak.

Their mate who films the winning move will also be showered with a $US5000 cash prize from surf footwear brand Kustom.

The event window runs from 1 January through to 31 August 2010, meaning that thousands of waves will be ridden over 243 days across all corners of the globe to find just one winner.

The opening of the event today has been marked with the launch of the official event website – www.kustomairstrike.com. The website will be the gateway for surfers around the world to view entries as they are received at the Airstike headquarters.
