<p>An amazing day of surfing unfolded at the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Oakley Pro Junior San Sebastian were Europe's finest under-21 male and female surfers showed off what talent is on offer at the moment with Pauline Ado (FRA) coming out on top in the Oakley Girls Pro Junior San Sebastian while Medi Vemenardi (REU) 19, claimed the Oakley Pro Junior San Sebastian men's title.</p>
<p>Excellent 3-4ft (1m) peeling lefts and rights greeted event officials and surfers this morning offering competitors the perfect playing field to do battle in the 2010 edition of the Oakley Pro Junior San Sebastian. With a poor swell prediction for the following days officials did not hesitate to take advantage of the conditions to run the finals.</p>

<p>The Chill Pro Junior presented by the City of Stirling was a feast for the spectators, as twin the he best surf of the event was saved for the finals where some true high performance surfing shone through, with all finalists stepping up to the challenge. In a fairy tale finish, Jack Freestone (Coolangatta, QLD) claimed his maiden ASP Australasia Pro Junior win, and local girl Felicity Palmateer (Hillarys, WA) claimed back to back Chill Pro Junior wins, and her second win on the 2010 Pro Junior Series.</p>

<p>The renowned surfers Eduar Santana, Manuel Selman, Victor Peralta and the great promise Gian Marcos Oliva, won first places in the Junior, Open, Master and Mini Junior Surf in the Third Annual Encuentro Surf Challenge, held at Playa Encuentro in Cabarete, on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, February 20, 2010.</p>
<p>The event was organized by surfing instructors Mr. Ken Gei Fung and Mr. Ronald Quevedo, and received support from local sponsors and the Federación Dominicana de Surf (FEDOSURF). Many athletes in the sport of surfing from the Dominican Republic, including several foreign nationals from Latin America, competed in The Encargo Group Encuentro Surf Challenge 2010.</p>
<p>In the Open Surf category, Manuel Selman won First Place. Selman is a Chilean professional surfer who lives in Cabarete, and competes on the international circuit. Junior Gomez of Rio San Juan, took Second Place, and achieved a high-level of performance despite a knee injury. Gomez was awarded Athlete of the Year 2009 from the Dominican Republic Olympic Committee The surfers delighted and amazed the audience with innovative maneuvers in the finals.</p>

<p>Team Australia continued its dominance of the junior surfing scene, winning the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Champions for a fifth consecutive year in New Zealand today.</p>
<p>In dramatic fashion, wins to Lennox Head's Tyler Wright and Port Macquarie's Matt Banting lifted Team Australia into the top spot.</p>
<p>Coming into the final day of competition ranked second behind Hawaii, Australia rallied to finish in the lead with 6015-points nearly 1000 clear of Hawaii (5038) in second and the USA (4958) in third. <br />Australia's win is also their sixth team's title victory since the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championship was launched eight years ago in 2003.</p>

<p>With easing 4-6 ft (1.5m) beach break conditions, contest organizers opted to run qualifying rounds one and two of the under 18 girls on the main event podium, along with repercharge one and two of the under 16 boys and repercharge two of the under 18 boys on podium two.</p>
<p>After three days off, the girls shredded the south Piha line-up to shreds, pushing the limit in the race for all-important qualifying round three berths.</p>
<p>Defending U/18 girls ISA World Junior champion Tyler Wright (Lennox Heads, Aus) kicked off her title defense in style, netting both the opening round's highest individual wave score (8.5) and two-wave combined total (14.00).</p>
