Indonesia’s Dede Suryana was again in outstanding form and the 24 year-old west Javanese surfer is enthusiastic about his chances here.

With the influx of the ASP One World Rating, the 6.0 Lowers Pro's ASP PRIME status attracted over 30 ASP Dream Tour competitors and the world's finest up-and-comers looking to capitalize on the increasingly valuable ratings points on offer towards their global standing.

The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Estoril Surf Billabong Girls 6-Star Women's event ran through to the completion of round three with Tyler Wright (AUS) the standout surfer of a long day of competition as she advanced through all her heats to lay down the challenge to the top seeds in the $US35.000 event.

A strong cross-shore wind made conditions very tough throughout the day as the waves stayed in the 2-3ft (0.75m) range. Event officials took full advantage of the peaky lefthanders on offer during the higher tide and then ran an afternoon session for round three with the dropping tide at times causing a strong rip through the contest area.

The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) PRIME 6.0 Lowers Pro kicked off Round 1 and the first three heats of Round 2 today in increasing three-to- five foot (1.5 metre) surf at the iconic cobblestone pointbreak of Lower Trestles. Opening main-event action saw current ASP Dream Tour No. 8 Adriano de Souza (BRA), 23, eliminate fellow ASP World Title competitor and defending 6.0 Lowers Pro Champion Fred Patacchia (North Shore, HI), 28, in the Round of 96.

The increase in ASP PRIME ratings points due to the newly-initiated ASP World Rankings has drawn an impressive field to Lower Trestles, including over 30 ASP Dream Tour campaigners as well as the world's finest up-and-comers looking to find their way amongst the elite.

Round 2 of the Billabong Pro Santa Catarina was completed today in offshore but challenging two-to-three foot (1 metre) waves at Praia da Vila.

The third stop on the 2010 ASP World Tour, the Billabong Pro Santa Catarina saw a routing of the rookie class in today's elimination Round 2 as the top seeds enjoyed an impressive return to form.

Excellent conditions were on offer today for the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Protest Vendee Pro held at the main break of La Sauzaie on the second day of competition. After yesterday’s lay day action at the Protest Vendee Pro got into full swing with the completion of round 1 and the majority of round 2 despite the difficulties many of the surfers are experiencing trying to reach the event on time.

Clean 3-4ft (1m) waves entered the reef break of La Sauzaie improving as the tide pushed in offering excellent conditions for the opening rounds. With an expected drop in swell event officials made another call late in the afternoon to run as many heats of round 2 as possible.

The O'Neill Cold Water Classic (CWC) Scotland an Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) 6-Star men’s event ran through the final 8 heats of round one and set the scene for the start of round 2 with the remaining 96 seeded surfers.

With a light northerly breeze coming off the Artic circle conditions were extremely cold both in and out of the water with low cloud cover throughout the day. Consistent 3-4ft (1-1.2m) waves were hitting the reef at Brims Ness offering a clean right-hand peak for the competitors to work off.

The first eight heats of round one of the O'Neill Cold Water Classic (CWC) Scotland an Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) 6-Star event were completed today at the back-up location of Brims Ness where young New Zealand surfer Billy Stairmand (NZL) lead the opening round charge of a strong international field.

Competition began at 7:30 am on a crisp, clear Scottish morning with waves in the 3-4ft (1-1.2m) range as the high tide provided excellent conditions with a light breeze and water temperature at a mere 7 º Celsius.

Kelly Slater (USA), 38, former nine-time ASP World Champion, has claimed his fourth Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach presented by SNICKERS title over reigning two-time ASP World Champion Mick Fanning (AUS), 28, in clean three-to-four foot (1 metre) waves at the backup venue of Johanna Beach.

The second stop on the 2010 ASP World Tour, the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach was completed over four different venues this year, with Round 1 at Bells Beach, Round 2 at Thirteenth Beach, Round 3 and the opening half of Round 4 at Winkipop before the final day was completed at Johanna Beach.
